Hi! I’m MadameBerry, Ohio-based painter and freelance illustrator who finds beauty in the things that aren’t quite right. I paint bright and surreal portraits inspired by digital decay, drawing upon my love of glitchy distortions and vibrant neon, as well as my experience as an open heart surgery survivor.
After earning my degree in Interactive Design and Game Development at Savannah College of Art and Design, I went on to produce a small selection of independent games before experiencing severe burnout and pivoting to painting. I wrote about my experience with burnout and finding healthier creative habits in my workbook, A Motion to Make.
I also publish tutorials and more on Youtube, and stream live on Twitch.
My work has been shown at the “Land of Dreams” Exhibit by the Sandbar Art Studio and “The Uncanny” Exhibit by Chateau Gallery.
I’m interested in collaborating with other artists as well as art supply manufacturers with unique and experimental products.
