When I was in art college, the medium we learned most of our color theory and design courses in was acrylics. At the time, I thought I enjoyed it, but really I just didn’t have a lot of other painting mediums to compare to. But as I expanded my arsenal of mediums to include watercolor, gouache, and eventually oils, I found that I was gravitating towards acrylics less and less.
Until recently, anyway. And I want to talk about what changed.

So it occurs to me that it’s not called “Yupo Medium” as in “this is an art medium”. There’s also Yupo Translucent and Yupo Heavy, so the word “medium” here refers to the paper’s weight. My mistake!
